A new, sort of weird list from Business Insider says Vancouver is tops for innovation
While B.C. may no longer be the self-designated best place on Earth, its crown jewel, Vancouver, is among the top centres of innovation. That’s according to the New Yorkers at Business Insider, who today released a list (available here) of the top 18 metros (seriously, who stops at 18?) using metrics, they say, such as patents per capita. Here’s what BI said about VanCity:
Vancouver, Canada, has set a mission to become the greenest city in the world by 2020, which has already lead to a 20% decrease in water consumption. Plus, 41% of people walk or bike to get around.
Aw, shucks. Granted, that last part’s not true—the 41 per cent number includes transit riders—but we’re not going to belabour the point. Click through the gallery above to see who else made the list (which, if we’re being totally honest, should probably be taken with 18 grains of salt).
