The Jilly Box
Millennial moms (like myself) will remember Jillian Harris for her stint on The Bachelor, then the ensuing reality TV career that really highlighted her design talents in Love It or List It, but B.C. locals now know her best for her incredible business acumen—and that includes The Jilly Box, a quarterly subscription box she co-founded in 2019. The B-Corp company stocks these once-a-season boxes with high-end goods from Canadian, women-owned and equity-deserving brands (like Cheekbone Beauty and Matt and Nat). To get the box, you’ll have to subscribe to Jilly’s Insider’s Club to get in line for the next Jilly Box, get an invite to purchase and then check out as soon as possible (the boxes often sell out within 24 hours!). Then, mom will receive $414 worth of treats (like dessert dishes, perhaps a sweater, face cream, earrings and more) for the $199 you actually paid. jillybox.com

Bear’s Blooms Floral Subscription
Started in Vancouver by siblings Tess and Parker Atkins, Bear’s Blooms offers a farm fresh flower subscription box in which you can choose your flowers and frequency from locally-grown blooms. Small bouquets (14-15 stems) are $49, while the largest (23-30 stems) can run you up to $83. Pop in mom’s address and once you’ve signed her up, choose from a selection of custom seasonal boxes. You’re in luck if mom lives in Vancouver or Victoria areas (they even deliver to Calgary and Toronto now). bearsblooms.com

The Best of BC Wine Club by Naramata General Store
It’s well-known that B.C. produces some of the world’s best wines, and the Okanagan is where much of that growing and winemaking takes place, so of course the Okanagan’s many wineries have their own wine clubs in which members get regular shipments of bottles. This club, however, takes a curated approach, tapping more than one winery’s portfolio. Sommelier Mike Bernadino, winemaker David Enns and master of wine, Geoffrey Moss hand-select six (or 12!) bottles of B.C. wine to be delivered quarterly, along with detailed profiles on each wine, featuring tasting notes and food pairing suggestions. Pricing varies based on the wine selection at the time, but ranges from $225 to 250 per six-pack shipment (in B.C. only). Now, that’s a six pack we think mom would be interested in. naramata.store/club/
