Some of Adam Segal’s earliest memories are walking through Storkcraft’s former manufacturing plant in Richmond with his father, Gary Segal, C.M., O.B.C., the company’s chairman.
“I never thought I’d have a career in the baby furniture space,” he says.
Segal became the president and CEO of Storkcraft in 2017, but he first joined in 2007, gaining experience in nearly every department along his journey.
Founded in Vancouver in 1945 and headquartered in Richmond, Storkcraft is also the exclusive furniture licensee for Graco, one of the world’s most recognizable baby brands. Together with Graco, Storkcraft holds the number one spot in market share for baby cribs in North America, and its crib mattress has been the top crib mattress in America since 2019, according to Circana market data. In 2025, Fast Company named Storkcraft to its Best Workplaces for Innovators list, alongside fellow B.C. company Arc’teryx.
Storkcraft also saw record revenue in 2025 and is on track to surpass it in 2026. “We’re doing it in spite of real headwinds: tariffs, supply chain disruptions and cost pressures right across the board,” says Adam.
Adam’s brother, Justin Segal, joined in 2019, bringing a new focus on design innovation to the company.

“We’ve taken major steps to transform ourselves into industry trendsetters, hiring top-tier design and engineering talent from some of the world’s biggest names,” says Justin, the vice president of product and brand.
All Storkcraft pieces are designed in-house, including its new luxury collection, Art of Nursery, which launched in 2025. Art of Nursery has propelled Storkcraft to the forefront of furniture design, garnering international product design awards from Red Dot, Fast Company and Wallpaper*.
“Art of Nursery is inspired by the beauty of the world around us, whether that’s architecture, landscapes or jewellery,” says Justin. “What has made Art of Nursery so successful is the fact that there’s simply nothing out there like it—every piece is hand-sketched and tells an authentic story.”
Both brothers emphasize how proud they are to be a B.C.-based company as they continue to expand across North America and, recently, into Mexico. They have plans to continue growing internationally into Europe and Latin America, aiming to double their revenue by 2030 and expand their product categories into the youth demographic.
For Adam, the milestones are worth a pause, not a victory lap. “Every now and then you have to step back and see how far we’ve come. The talent on our team today wasn’t here when I joined in 2007, and bringing those people in has been a huge part of our success,” he says. “But I’m not satisfied with where we are. We’re hungry, and there’s a lot more we want to do.”
“Plenty of companies can grow revenue. The harder part, and the part I care most about, is turning that into a business that’s actually sustainable,” says Adam. “Growth at the expense of profitability, or of our values, isn’t the kind of growth I’m interested in. We’re building this to last.”
For Adam and Justin, the company’s tagline, “Delivering childhood memories,” means more than just making furniture products. “What we’re really part of is a family’s memories: the first crib, the nursery that a parent sets up before the baby arrives, the room a kid grows up in,” Adam says. “It reminds us that we’re not just shipping cribs, we’re showing up for one of the most important chapters in a family’s life. As a parent myself, that’s a responsibility I take personally.”
Justin agrees. “We’re a family-owned company that dedicates its heart, passion and expertise to inspiring families and providing them with the utmost value.”
