Why Point Grey Golf & Country Club is a Golf Lover’s Oasis

One of the city’s premier private golf clubs, Point Grey Golf & Country Club delivers on all levels for its members

For members of the prestigious Point Grey Golf & Country Club, the grass is always greener. Nestled in the heart of the city, the Club boasts beautifully landscaped fairways with pristine greens and spectacular mountain views. The 18-hole course is sure to appeal to any golfer, whether a novice, or seasoned professional.

The perks of membership extend well beyond the beautiful setting. Amenities include a 30,000 square foot contemporary Clubhouse, an outdoor patio with panoramic views, a fully-equipped fitness room and spacious lounges. Located a short 20-minute drive from downtown Vancouver, it’s the ideal place to unwind at the end of a hectic day. Members can practice their golf swing before relaxing over dinner and drinks at the Clubhouse, with live music offered every Friday night during the summer months.

It’s no surprise the Club has earned its stellar reputation as one of Vancouver’s Top Private Golf Clubs. For nearly 100 years, the Club has provided an oasis for golf enthusiasts to form friendships and bond over the love of the game. “Our Club has a friendly and welcoming environment where you get to know everyone,” says Dennis Isaacson, president of the Point Grey Golf & Country Club.

Despite B.C.’s ever-changing business landscape, the long standing tradition of a Private Golf Club as an ideal place to impress clients and win over customers still rings true. “With 900 golfing members, it’s easy to network and build camaraderie at our Club” says Isaacson. With busy professionals looking to balance business and pleasure, it’s the perfect venue to build contacts and forge lasting connections.

For younger golfers, the dream of joining a Private Golf Club may be more affordable than they think. “Our Club is offering an exclusive 90-day promotion for prospective members who fall within the 41 to 55 age group of our Full Play membership category. They’ll pay $1,000 per year of age for a membership fee,” says Wayne Henderson, vice president of the Club. “In addition, we have a variety of membership opportunities for young Intermediates and families available.”

PGA Tour Canada kicks off its opening season at Point Grey Golf  & Country Club with the Freedom 55 Financial Open from May 23 to 29. Isaacson and Henderson encourage Club members to volunteer, as it’s a great way to meet the Pros. “Last year, one of our members volunteered as a caddy. The golfer went onto win the tournament and attributed much of his success to our member.”

As it approaches its centennial year in 2022, the Club is expanding to meet membership demands. “We will be renovating and increasing the size of our fitness room and also considering ways of enhancing the driving range and practice facilities,” says Isaacson. “With our Greens Committee also working on plans to have the Club construct its own reservoir, we look to carefully monitor the stewardship of the water to enable environmental sustainability.” Henderson adds, “It’s important to do our part.”

With warm weather and the golf season quickly approaching, now’s the best time to discover all the Club has to offer. To learn more about Point Grey Golf & Country Club, visit www.pointgreygolf.com.
