Two social media giants, Facebook and Twitter, announced plans to increase transparency of political campaign ads. The goal is to prevent foreign manipulation of upcoming elections. Facebook said it would include a “paid for” label on top of any political ads in the U.S. Twitter will provide prominent visual cues like a badge and a disclaimer on campaign ads.
