For the fourth consecutive month, home sales in Canada rose in August, according to the Vancouver Province. Sales increased 0.9 percent from July, propped up by a strong market in places like Toronto and Montreal.
However, the year-over-year rate dropped 3.8 percent, mostly due to a flagging B.C. market.
There were 6,743 residential unit sales across the province in August, the story notes, a 26.4-percent dive from the same month last year. The average B.C. home price fell 1.2 per cent, to $699,776.
