In the high-turnover hospitality industry, employers face a flood of generic resumes. Enter Vancouver company EightSix Network Inc., which developed an online recruitment platform specifically for the industry. Launched in 2010, EightSix’s system guides job seekers to create profiles tailored to employers’ needs.
“Our whole goal is that by using these profiles job seekers can share more about themselves and employers can get a lot more information. We lower a company’s cost for hire, because they now have to do fewer interviews,” says Andrew McAleenan, who co-founded the company with his brother, Justin.
EightSix has quickly expanded to serve more than 100 client companies and more than 50,000 job seekers in Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto.
