Can‘t sleep because of work? Join the club
Job stress is keeping Canadians up nights, according to a new survey from staffing firm Accountemps. Almost 40 percent of professionals often lose sleep over their office lives, the national study of more than 500 workers found. The top five reasons cited:
1) Overwhelmed with work volume/hours;2) Can’t get a business problem out of my head;3) Strained co-worker relationships;4) Worried I may lose my job; and5) My boss is a nightmare.
Respondents aged 18 to 34 were most likely to blame their sleeplessness on an overwhelming workload or long hours. Forty-three percent of men said they often toss and turn because of work, versus 37 percent of women.
