BC Hydro supports B.C. businesses with incentives and expert insights.

Energy efficiency isn’t just about sustainability. It also helps businesses run more efficiently and lower operating costs. From restaurants to auto repair shops to laundromats, BC Hydro is helping businesses of all sizes save through incentives for energy-efficiency upgrades. In this past year, businesses participating in these BC Hydro programs saved an average of $2,300 on their annual energy bills. And with a wide range of incentives available, businesses can find the energy-saving solutions that best fit their specific needs.

Energy advisors provide free expert advice and tailored solutions

BC Hydro connects business owners with an energy advisor for an energy assessment at no cost. Advisors conduct all the necessary research in advance to provide a streamlined process, offering tailored upgrade recommendations and referrals for contractors. They identify funding options that can reduce upgrade costs through various BC Hydro programs and even assist with the application process. With an assessment from an energy advisor, business owners can choose the upgrades that make the most sense for their business, putting them in the driver’s seat.

Funding opportunities for energy-efficient upgrades

To support investments in energy efficiency, BC Hydro offers incentives for equipment upgrades in the key areas of lighting, HVAC and refrigeration systems. Last year, participating businesses received an average of 30 percent funding towards upfront costs. Not only do energy-efficient upgrades help improve sustainability, they strengthen your business’ bottom line.

Results that matter: real savings, a lasting impact

BC Hydro is committed to supporting the success of B.C. businesses, delivering both cost-saving and environmental benefits. By upgrading inefficient equipment, businesses can optimize their energy use, leading to long-term savings. Plus, for a limited time, businesses can receive an additional 30 percent bonus incentive,* making now the perfect time to invest in energy upgrades.
