Two B.C. printers—in a total of six Canadian companies—have made it into the Top 10 on a list of environmental sustainability ranking for printers in North America.
Burnaby-based Hemlock Printers and Vancouver-Based Metropolitan Fine Printers are ranked at No. 5 and 6 respectively in Canopy’s Blueline Ranking for 2017, a business consumer guide ranking North America’s top printers (by sales) according to 32 ancient and endangered forest conservation and sustainability criteria.
The No. 1 spot is held by New Jersey’s EarthColor, which was also No. 1 for 2016.
Of note, the 2017 ranking is dedicated to Dick Kouwenhoven—who passed away in April—the founder, chairman and chief executive officer of Hemlock Printers Ltd. and whom Canopy refers to as “a champion in sustainability in the print sector.”
