On Monday, April 9, UBC President Santa Ono gave a speech celebrating the completion of the $55 million Indian Residential School History and Dialogue Centre.
In his opening remarks, Ono apologized for his school’s role in perpetuating the residential school system.
“Universities bear part of the responsibility for this history,” said the university’s 15th president.
