This comprehensive guide will explore UCW’s undergraduate offerings, highlighting how the university’s innovative education model and steadfast commitment to accessible, academically rigorous programs set its graduates up for success in a rapidly evolving professional landscape.

Why Go West?

Flexibility

UCW offers program flexibility in two key ways. First, the university operates on a four-term academic year, enabling motivated students to complete their degrees faster and enter the job market more quickly. Since UCW operates on a four-term academic year, there are also four intakes a year, which allows students to start their program when they’re ready. Students with previously earned university credits recognized by UCW may find themselves on an accelerated path to graduation.

University Canada West also offers an online Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts in Business Communication programs, allowing students to maximize their spare time or balance work while pursuing their education.

Award-Winning Education

UCW is proud of its high quality of education, with accolades to prove it. For instance, it was the first university in BC and the third in Canada to earn a five-star rating from the QS Stars higher education rating system, highlighting UCW’s excellence in delivering a top-tier educational experience.

University Canada West was shortlisted as a finalist for Business School of the Year at The PIEoneer Awards 2024, reflecting the University’s unwavering commitment to innovation and academic excellence, and providing students with the tools they need to thrive in the evolving business landscape.

UCW’s MBA students also claimed first place at the 2023 BC MBA Games and went on to compete against 15 of Canada’s top business schools in the 2024 national competition, securing first place once more. This made UCW the first double winner in the history of the MBA Games.

Career Development

University Canada West equips its students for the workforce from the moment they graduate. Career Development Specialists provide personalized guidance on resumes, cover letters and job interview techniques, along with hosting weekly career workshops. These comprehensive services have resulted in impressive employment outcomes for UCW alumni with 94% of UCW Associate of Arts students working at a paid job after graduation.

Student-Centric Environment

Student success is at the heart of UCW’s mission. The university offers various support services, including the Peer2Peer Program, Student Advising and Support Services, and a dedicated Career Development team. These resources enrich students’ university experience and ensure they achieve both their educational and personal goals.
