Whether you’re a Swiss chocolate lover, or an early-holiday-gift shopper, you’re in luck. Switzerland’s largest (and arguably most beloved) chocolate brands, Läderach, has opened its first Vancouver—and second B.C.—location.
After debuting its first Metro Vancouver shop in Richmond last fall, the 64-year-old Swiss chocolatier expanded into Vancouver with a new location at CF Pacific Centre, which officially opened on Saturday, September 5. To celebrate opening day, Läderach held a ribbon-cutting ceremony and handed out chocolate to its first 200 customers.
Located across from Bath and Body Works and next to La Vie en Rose, the new shop carries Läderach’s full lineup of handcrafted Swiss chocolates, including its signature FrischSchoggi, or “fresh chocolate”—large slabs of chocolate that are broken into pieces at the counter and sold by weight. Shoppers can also find pralines, truffles, single-origin chocolate bars, seasonal assortments and newer creations such as its bestselling milk chocolate Dubai.
The Pacific Centre opening is part of a wider North American expansion for the brand, which has plans for more than 10 new locations across the continent in 2026. “We look forward to continuing Läderach’s growth across Canada, including the opening of our first Calgary location next year,” said Warren Dunkelberger, President of Läderach North America, in a press release.
Founded in 1962, the family-owned Swiss company produces all of its chocolate in the canton of Glarus, Switzerland, overseeing the process from cocoa bean to shop counter. Today, Läderach employs more than 2,500 people and operates more than 250 chocolateries around the world.
