Splash: Arts Umbrella’s 32nd annual art auction and gala 2014

Almost 400 guests attended the 32nd annual Splash gala presented by McMillan LLP at the CBC studios. After walking the red carpet outside, CBC guests were ushered downstairs to the studios where the event took place. The program encouraged partygoers to act their shoe size, not their age.
The CBC’s Rick Cluff and Johanna Wagstaffe shared the stage with McMillan LLP partner Stacey Handley and Arts Umbrella board of directors chair Jamie Pitblado. Silent auction items were on display as well more than 100 art pieces that went up for live auction at the end of the evening. Ross Penhall, Bobbie Burgers and Noel Hodnett were three artists whose paintings fetched top dollars. The Arts Umbrella Dance Company students performed dance routines throughout the studios as well as a main stage number.
Arts Umbrella’s Splash is the key fundraising event to help provide high-quality arts education to young people, allowing Arts Umbrella to reach thousands of children in underserved neighbourhoods through free programs. Arts Umbrella is a not-for-profit organization and relies on the support of Metro Vancouver’s philanthropic community.
