Umedaly insists there’s a common thread in his career: he goes wherever he sees an exciting challenge where he thinks he can make a tangible contribution to society. He stepped down as CEO of Xantrex Technology Inc. in 2003, it was a safe bet that he didn’t have golf on his mind. But predicting his nomination as chair of BC Hydro in December 2007 would have been a stretch.  After a stint with VANOC that ended in July, it's anyone's guess what's next for Umedaly.
