7 B.C. hotels and resorts rank among Canada’s top in 2026

British Columbia hotels and resorts made a strong showing in the 2026 U.S. News & World Report rankings, with seven properties landing in Canada’s top 10 lists.

British Columbia’s hospitality sector once again proved its national clout in the 2026 U.S. News & World Report rankings, with seven hotels and resorts in the province named among the best in Canada across the publication’s separate hotel and resort lists. Four B.C. properties landed in the top 10 of the Best Hotels in Canada list, while three B.C. resorts ranked in the top 10 of the Best Resorts in Canada—a split that highlights the province’s strength in both urban luxury stays and destination resorts.

Zoom out, and the dominance becomes even clearer. Across the full national rankings, 175 hotels and resorts in British Columbia earned a place on the list, spanning luxury city towers, wilderness lodges, alpine retreats and coastal resorts. From Vancouver to Whistler and beyond, the results reflect both depth and diversity—world-class service paired with geography that does much of the heavy lifting.

In the Best Resorts in Canada category, three B.C. properties earned top-tier recognition. Leading the list was Four Seasons Resort Whistler, which ranked No. 1 overall, reinforcing its status as one of the country’s premier mountain resorts. Also recognized were Fairmont Château Whistler, a cornerstone of Whistler’s resort infrastructure with strong appeal for both leisure travellers and large-scale events, and Pan Pacific Vancouver, which blends resort-style amenities with a prime downtown waterfront location.

On the Best Hotels in Canada list, four B.C. properties stood out. Vancouver’s Fairmont Pacific Rim ranked second overall, known for its design-forward rooms, dining scene, and proximity to the city’s business and cultural districts. Further west, Wickaninnish Inn continued to earn national recognition for its dramatic beachfront setting in Tofino, where storm watching, Indigenous design influences, and nature-forward luxury define the experience. Rounding out the list were Wedgewood Hotel & Spa, a boutique Relais & Châteaux property known for its European elegance, along with Four Seasons Resort Whistler

“The hotels highlighted in U.S. News’ 2026 Best Hotels rankings set the standard for top-tier customer service, stellar amenities and truly memorable guest experiences,” says Zach Watson, senior data editor, travel at U.S. News.
