BC Hydro’s virtual event offers cost-saving advice for businesses of all sizes.
For businesses, saving energy means saving money. In support of small and medium-sized businesses across the province, BC Hydro is hosting a free virtual event: Powering your bottom line: Incentives for B.C. businesses of all sizes. Attendees will hear from industry experts, including BC Hydro President and CEO Charlotte Mitha. This informational session will provide practical guidance to help businesses improve energy efficiency and boost their bottom line.
One of the topics covered will be BC Hydro’s incentives for equipment upgrades in the key areas of lighting, HVAC and refrigeration systems. These energy-efficient upgrades not only help improve sustainability, but they can also help reduce operating costs. Last year, participating businesses saved an average of $2,300 on their annual energy bills. Plus, for a limited time, businesses can receive an additional 30 percent bonus incentive.*
Attendees will also hear about the Demand Response for Business program, which rewards businesses for reducing or shifting electricity use during periods of high demand. By participating, businesses not only help support a more reliable electrical grid but also earn financial rewards for every kilowatt saved.
Businesses can learn more about these programs by connecting with a Business Energy Advisor to receive an energy assessment at no cost. Energy advisors conduct all the necessary research in advance to provide a streamlined process, offering tailored upgrade recommendations and referrals for contractors. They also provide guidance on applying for BC Hydro incentives and rewards.
BC Hydro’s free virtual event is a valuable opportunity to learn firsthand why saving energy means saving money. Businesses will gain insights into BC Hydro programs that make improving energy efficiency easy and rewarding. If you want to find out how to turn energy savings into business savings, register now to reserve your spot.
*Eligible projects must be submitted by February 12, 2026 and completed by March 14, 2027.
