Office Lunch Recipe: Make your coworkers drool over these noodles by Heritage Asian Eatery

The Vancouver-based restaurant has a quick and saucy lunch fix

According to Vancouver’s Heritage Asian Eatery, you can’t go wrong with noodles—Chinese dan dan-style noodles are the traditional choice, but udon or fettuccine will work just fine in this foolproof, reheatable power lunch.

Sauce ingredients

  • 1 tbsp peanut butter (smooth  or crunchy)
  • 1 tbsp white sugar
  • 1 tsp light soy sauce
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp sesame paste (optional)
  • ½ tsp black vinegar (optional)
  • ½ tsp dark soy sauce (optional)
  • ¼ tsp chicken, vegetable or mushroom powder (optional)
  • 10 oz boiling water

Other ingredients

  • 8 oz cooked noodles
  • 1 tbsp chopped green onion
  • 1 tbsp crushed roasted peanuts (lightly or non-salted)
  • ½ tsp preserved Chinese radish
  • ¼ tsp dried shrimp
  • 1 tsp chili oil

Combine all of the sauce ingredients into a bowl. Mix thoroughly, then add the boiling water and mix again.

Add the cooked noodles (hot or cold) to the bowl. Top with remaining ingredients (you can also add a soft-boiled egg, pork, fried tofu or whatever other extras you might like) and serve.
