Are you an outstanding female entrepreneur or executive of an organization who is a leader, innovator, community builder, rising star or champion of equity and inclusion? Do you know a B.C. woman executive or business owner who deserves to be recognized? If so, we encourage you to enter our second annual Women of the Year Awards.
The winners and runners-up, chosen by a panel of judges, will be featured in the April 2021 issue of BCBusiness magazine.
There is no charge to enter or nominate a candidate.
**The application deadline has been extended until February 1, 2021.**
Nominees must live and work in British Columbia.
Nominees may work for private, public sector or nonprofit organizations.
We welcome and encourage nominees who are Black, Indigenous and people of colour, self-identified women and non-binary folks.
Candidates may nominate themselves or be nominated by someone else.
Each application must include one letter of support from a current or former work colleague, business partner or mentor.
Although candidates may nominate themselves or be nominated in all of the seven categories, a nominee can only be a winner or runner-up in one category.

Leader How has the nominee demonstrated vision and leadership throughout their career and in their current position? (maximum 250 words per application)
Entrepreneurial LeaderAs an entrepreneur, how has the nominee shown leadership, determination and resourcefulness? (maximum 250 words)
Innovator What innovations or creative approaches has the nominee introduced? How have they broken new ground? (maximum 250 words)
Community Builder In what ways does the nominee contribute to the community? (maximum 250 words)
Change MakerHow has the nominee driven positive change, whether it’s in B.C. or beyond? (maximum 250 words)
Equity and Inclusion Champion (*new category*)How has the nominee addressed and promoted equity and inclusion in their organization? (maximum 250 words)
Rising Star What has the nominee accomplished in their early career that sets them apart and indicates potential for future success? (maximum 250 words)
The application is a two-part process:

2. We’ll email you the entry form to fill out. Complete the form, attach one letter of support (maximum 400 words) from a current or former work colleague, business partner or mentor, and submit it.
Applicants must be available to be interviewed and photographed in early 2021. At this point, it’s unclear whether we will hold an event to announce the winners.
Important note: If a nominee becomes a Women of the Year finalist, we will use the information from the nomination form and interview to prepare a profile for potential publication in the April 2021 issue of BCBusiness. If you provide financial, personal and other details that you wish to keep on background or off the record, it is your responsibility to let us know. BCBusiness makes every effort to ensure accuracy, but we do not share stories with sources before publication.
