Event: Food Fight! Battle for Brunch
Venue: Terminal City Club
Date: Apr. 10, 2011
Over 200 local foodies gathered on a rainy Sunday morning to nosh on some of the finest brunch offerings Vancouver has to offer. Deluxe french toast with caramelized apple and bacon from Market, pan seared duck foie gras on poached fruite with leek and vermouth soubise & port reduction from the Abercorn Hotel and quail’s egg benedict from EBO Restaurant. It sounds like a mouthful and a scrumptious wonderful mouthful of goodness it was.
The 2nd annual Battle for Brunch once again brought together BC’s finest chefs in a battle for attendees taste buds. Vancouver’s favourite host Fred Lee emceed and played auctioneer for the event. All proceeds went to supporting Variety BC – the Children’s charity.
After votes were cast and ballots tallied, the YEW Restaurant ended up on top with their Serrano ham and Manchego cheese croquette with smoked tomato dip and their berry cheesecake lollipops.
Gastronomical goodness for charity. We’re all for it.
