Mister Ice Cream
Yaletown’s Mister, at 1141 Mainland Street, is a slick white-brick-walled shop designed by local firm Scott & Scott. The product is original too, composed with all-natural ingredients churned and frozen with liquid nitrogen as you watch. It’s more than a special effect: the fog makes for a thicker, denser ice cream.
Beta5 Ice Cream
For a limited time only, drop by Beta5 at 413 Industrial Avenue on Saturdays from 1 to 5 p.m. for an old-fashioned ice cream social. The chocolatiers, known for their fresh, local, artisanal approach, craft up extraordinary sundaes.
Nice Vice Cream
Is it possible to be indulgent and health-conscious? That’s the idea behind Nice Vice, which serves up dairy-free vice cream made with plant-based ingredients. While the van has been selling scoops around Olympic Village, Kits and downtown for awhile, Nice Vice has just opened its first bricks-and-mortar location at 1022 Mainland Street.
Lik Ice Cream
Apparently now it’s socially acceptable to cruise Robson holding an unconcealed syringe, courtesy of Lik Ice Cream. If the nitrogen-frozen, densely creamy confection isn’t enough on its own, you can take it up a notch by ejecting chocolate ganache or butterscotch with your very own plastic device.
