Since the Vancouver Grizzlies finally left the building for good in 2001, it’s long been rumoured that the city might get another chance at hosting an NBA franchise.
While the time for that discussion may well come, it appears as if the wheels are turning for another professional sport to come to Vancouver.
Canucks co-owner Francesco Aquilini recently admitted that he’s interested in bringing rugby to Vancouver in a professional capacity.
It’s not a huge surprise given the crowds that have come out to recent rugby events at BC Place, like the World Rugby Sevens Series in March and Team Canada vs. the Maori All-Blacks in early November.
